Harold J. Bayonne Jr., MD
Anesthesiology & Pain Management
Dr. Bayonne has spent his career focused on relieving pain — both the acute pain that follows surgery and injury, and the chronic pain that can wear people down over years. He has practiced in Louisiana since completing his training.
After graduating at the top of the Biological Sciences Department at Northwestern State University, he earned his medical degree at LSU Health in New Orleans, where he was chosen for the Henry and Delia Selby Merit Scholarship. He then completed his internship and anesthesiology residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, training in pain management at MD Anderson Cancer Center and the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center. His peers and faculty elected him Chief Resident, and in 2005 he received Baylor’s Robert Dripps Award, given to the program’s most outstanding resident.
Dr. Bayonne entered private practice in Alexandria, Louisiana, in 2005, where he started the hospital’s ultrasound-guided program for advanced acute pain procedures. He continues to seek out advanced training in new interventional and regenerative techniques so patients in Louisiana can access modern treatment options close to home.
